Martina McKoy 17th Training Wing/Legal Office GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- All active duty members assigned to Goodfellow interested in having their tax return prepared and electronically filed for free should contact their Unit Tax Advisor. The center is open through April 15. The UTAs are limited to individual income tax assistance and will prepare individual tax returns from their offices. Please contact your UTA for an appointment. Tax advisors are unable to provide advice or assistance concerning privately owned businesses and complex tax issues. However, taxpayers may fill out a Schedule C, self employment taxes, and bring it in with the rest of their tax documents for electronic filing. All others: This year, the centralized Base Tax Center will be open by appointment only to retirees, dependents and those without unit tax advisors. The center is staffed by volunteer income tax representatives and located in the base library building 712. April 15 is just under a month away. To make an appointment, call the legal office at (325) 654-3203. Do-It-Yourself: Additionally, free tax filing service is available at http://www.militaryonesource.com. Check the Web site for eligibility information.
