The 315th Training Squadron Rattlers swept both of their matches last week to grab sole possession of first place in the intramural volleyball standings.

The 11-1 Rattlers downed last-place Army 25-9 and 25-14 Feb. 22, then handed the 312th Training Squadron Fire Dawgs their second loss of the season Thursday, 25-14 and 25-11.

The 316th Training Squadron Sharks, 9-1, remain a game behind the league-leading Rattlers. The Sharks spanked Army Thursday, 25-17 and 25-15 to move a game ahead of the third-place Fire Dawgs, who are 8-2.

The 5-5 17th Mission Support Group Junkyard Dawgs are still in the playoff hunt after two grueling matches last week. The fourth-place squad vanquished a stubborn Navy/Marine team 25-21 in the first game of the set played Feb. 22, but lost the second 25-18. The Dawgs regrouped to capture the third and deciding game, 16-14.

17 MSG took to the court again Wednesday to combat the 17th Communications Squadron Bats in another three-game set. This time, the Dawgs were on the short end of the stick as they squeaked past the Bats the first game 25-23, but the 17 CS stormed back to take the last two games 27-25 and 16-14 to claim their second victory of the season.

The Navy/Marine team also collected its second win with a forfeit victory over the 17th Medical Group Cobras.
