Super Bowl party exceeds staff expectation Published Feb. 9, 2010 By Senior Airman Tong Duong 17th Training Wing Public Affairs Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas -- More than 200 Goodfellow Air Force Base members attended the Super Bowl XLIV party hosted by the Events Center, Feb. 7, 2010. Replica game balls and Super Bowl themed shirts and hats were given out during the event. According to Richard Rey, 17th Force Support Squadron recreation aid, the event was deemed a success. "I did not expect the huge turnout," he said "There were more than 268 people who participated in the event." The Events Center continuously hosts different events to lure students, family and permanent party members into the center to take advantage of the multitude of entertainment offered throughout the facility. "We are trying to come up with different types of events to give people more things to do on base, versus going off base and spending more money, Mr. Rey said." The Event Center staff currently hosts a monthly Ultimate Fighting Championship party and pool tournament. For more information, call (325) 654-5327.
