The 315th Training Squadron Rattlers stayed unbeaten and atop the intramural volleyball league standings by sweeping the 17th Medical Group Cobras 25-16 and 25-10 Wednesday at Mathis Fitness Center here.

The victory brought the Rattlers to a 5-0 record and a half-game ahead of second-place 312th Training Squadron Fire Dawgs.

The Fire Dawgs posted a strong week by handing the 316th Training Squadron Sharks their first setback of the season, 25-21 and 25-19 Wednesday. The 5-1 Fire Dawgs downed the 17th Mission Support Group Junkyard Dawgs 25-11 and 25-22 Thursday.

Despite the loss to the Rattlers, the 3-3 Cobras struck back into the win column by defeating the winless 17th Communication Squadron Bats 25-9 and 26-24 Thursday.

The Bats nearly pulled off an upset Feb. 1. They lost the first set to the Junkyard Dawgs 25-20, but stormed back to win the second 27-26. However, 17 CS couldn't muster enough to finish the job and fell to 17 MSG in the third and deciding set 15-1.

The Bats, Navy/Marines and Army teams are all looking for their first victory. The Navy/Marines didn't play last week and the Army fell to 316 Sharks 25-10 and 25-10 Feb. 1.

No matches are scheduled for Monday due to the Federal holiday.
