Geary, 17th Training Wing commander, will host the Goodfellow 2009 Annual Awards banquet on Feb. 2. at the McNease Convention Center, San Angelo. Social hour will start at 5:45 p.m. followed by the events program at 6:30 p.m. The annual awards program provides the opportunity for supervisors and leaders to recognize outstanding professionals for their significant contributions to the Air Force and Goodfellow programs and missions. This event recognizes civilians and members from all services in 17 different categories. The awards ceremony will be a joint event honoring both civilians and members of the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines who are assigned to Goodfellow AFB. "These individuals have done an outstanding job supporting the mission," said Command Chief Master Sergeant Frederick Ricker, 17th Training Wing. "They have a work ethic that's truly remarkable. They don't serve for the recognition but for something greater than themselves. They are the best of the best and will be very competitive at the next level." Tickets will go on sale Jan. 11. The cost is $15 for E-4 and below, $20 for E-5-E7, O-1 - O-3 and up to GS-11, $25 for E-8-E-9, O-4 - O-6 and GS-12 and above. Contact your unit first sergeant to purchase tickets. The guest speaker will be Command Chief Master Sgt. Brye McMillon, Air University, Maxwell AFB, Ala. The Air University is responsible for Air Force education, graduating 50,000 resident and 120,000 non-resident officers, enlisted, and civilian personnel each year from commissioning programs. Chief Master Sgt. McMillon entered the Air Force in April 1981 and was promoted to chief master sergeant on Dec. 1, 2000.
