San Angelo Veteran's Day Parade Published Nov. 3, 2009 By 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AFB, Texas -- Are you going to this year's 6th Annual San Angelo Veteran's Day parade on Saturday? If you are, this year's parade starts at 11 a.m. Team Goodfellow will have over 500 participants marching or riding on vehicles or floats. All participants need to be in place by 10 a.m. The marching formation participants need to be in place at the staging area on W. Concho Ave. in front of the Rebuilding Together San Angelo building. Entry to the parade route and staging area will be restricted after 9 a.m. After 9 a.m., there will be only one access point for personnel pre approved for access. All members of a formation must be in the same uniform (no mixing ABUs with BDUs, etc.). Also, no sunglasses, jackets, etc., are authorized unless all members of the formation are wearing them. Schedule of Events: 7:45 a.m. Buses meet at Base Theater 8:15 a.m. Buses begin transporting personnel downtown - Water, hot drinks, snacks and fruit will be available at marshalling area 10:50 a.m. Black Ropes perform the pre-parade show at the corner of E. Concho Ave. and S. Oakes St. 11 a.m. Parade kick off! 12:30 p.m. Parade ends and buses begin driving personnel to the base - Boxed lunches provided by request only The weather forecast for Saturday is a high of 77 degrees and sunny. The temperature at parade time should be in the low 60s and reach low 70s by noon. It should be a great day to march or come out and watch the over 100 entries in the parade.
