Air Force Honor Guard Visits Goodfellow/Community Published Nov. 3, 2009 By Robert Martinez 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AFB, Texas -- The U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team visited Goodfellow AFB on Oct. 30 and performed for an audience of over 200 permanent party and students. On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Drill Team performed at the Angelo State University football game halftime show, celebrating military appreciation night. The USAF Honor Guard Drill Team is the traveling component of the USAF Honor Guard. The Drill Team personifies the integrity, discipline, teamwork, and professionalism of every Airman and every Air Force mission. A 16-person performance featured a professionally choreographed sequence of show-stopping weapon maneuvers, precise tosses, complex weapon exchanges, and a walk through the gauntlet of spinning weapons. The Drill Team performed an incredible four-person performance centered on the stationary drill commander, flanked by four team members who simultaneously hurled their weapons over and around the commander -- performing a sequence of events unmatched by any other professional military drill team. Drill Team members are selected from current USAF Honor Guard personnel. Members represent the best of each of the individual ceremonial flights and are all members who have developed the discipline required to be a member of this elite performance unit. The U.S. Air Force Honor Guard selected Senior Airman Chance E. Borgeson, 17th Medical Group, Public Health Journeyman, hometown, Rogers, Texas, to be a member of this elite team. Airman Borgeson will join the Air Force Honor Guard team in February 2010.
