Fitness, fun for Team Goodfellow during Sports Day Published Oct. 27, 2009 By Public Affairs 17th Training Wing GOODFELLOW AFB, Texas -- The 17th Training Wing Sports Day was held Friday at the physical training pad. The Sports Day event replaced the Quarterly Wing Run. Team Goodfellow members participated in 16 sports that culminated in a squadron relay run. The winner was the 316th Training Squadron, followed by the Marine Corps Detachment in second place followed by the 312th Training Squadron and the 315th Training Squadron who took third and fourth place respectively. "The event was very successful and lots of fun, said Ms. Natalie Weems, a fitness specialist, Mathis Fitness Center. "The goal was to up squadron morale with team events in a competitive, but fun environment." Ms. Weems said the response overall was overwhelming and feedback was positive. "We plan on making some changes and additions in preparation for the next one," Ms. Weems said. "This event will host different sports each quarter and will continue to be about having a fun day and promoting esprit de corps among all the squadrons."
