Young or old, everyone enjoys bowling because it's an all year round sport that's easy to learn. Thede Bowling Center recently installed new Qubica equipment Oct. 12-15.

The Qubica equipment includes a program called 'Bowlopolis.' In contrast to the previous wallpapers presented on the screens, this fresh and advanced program enhances the bowling entertainment system by bringing the characters to life on the score grids. The 'Bowlopolis' program offers different environmental, birthday and holiday themes such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas. This cutting-edge specialty is great for celebrations such as children's birthday parties. At the same time, it is easily accessible to bowler's.

"The graphics are actually geared to operate on the rack allowing games to flow regularly.," Mr. Raymond Kazura, Thede Bowling Center Manager said.

All monitors were replaced with brand new high definition, 42-inch flat-screens, which will allow clear graphics to be played. Another new feature this equipment offers is the ability to capture each individual bowler's picture and have it appear on the screen when it's their turn. This attribute helps eliminate any confusion on whose turn it is. In addition to an enjoyable game of bowling, if a lane is open and the screen unused, the screens can then be utilized to watch a television show, news or even a football game.

"The Thede Bowling Center is now in the process of upgrading to a more convenient sitting area for bowlers as well as installing new bowling ball racks, in hopes of becoming a user-friendly bowling center," Mr. Kazura said.
