Todd Hadley threw two touchdown passes, but Goodfellow's varsity flag football team dropped a close 13-12 decision to the top-ranked Hustlas Sunday in San Angelo.

The loss dropped the Hawks to 1-2 on the season.

The Hawks got off to a promising start as Tim Harris intercepted a pass early in the first half. The Hawks marched down field, with Hadley scrambling for a 20-yard game and hitting Harris for a 22-yard gain. The Hawks cashed in on Hadley's throw to Daniel Williams for a touchdown. Goodfellow missed the point-after attempt, but still led 6-0.

The Hawks' defense kept the Hustlas off the board on their next possession, thanks to an interception in the end zone by Deion Campbell. But this time, the Hawks couldn't capitalize on the turnover and had to punt.

The Hustlas responded with a long drive and scored right before the half. Their PAT succeeded, and the Hustlas led 7-6 at halftime.

The Hawks got the ball first in the second half, but couldn't get a first down. The Hustlas kept their momentum going, driving downfield for their second score and a 13-6 advantage.

The Hustlas threatened to turn the game into a blowout by intercepting Hadley on Goodfellow's next possession. But, after being scored upon in the two previous drives, the Hawks' defense rose to the challenge and forced the Hustlas to turn the ball over on downs.

With time running out, the Hawks drove down the field and scored when Hadley found Jamie Burdette in the end zone and a touchdown. Trailing 13-12, the Hawks went for a two- point conversion and the win. However, Hadley had to scramble away from a heavy Hustlas' pass rush and his conversion attempt fell short, which allowed the Hustlas to escape with the victory.

The Hawks look to even their season record Sunday against the Smokin'Aces at Field No. 2 of the Texas Bank Sports Complex in San Angelo.
