Goodfellows Annual Squadron Tug-O-War Published Sept. 25, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Anne Gathua 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AFB, Texas -- Five teams competed in the first annual Tug-O-War event hosted by Goodfellow Sept. 16. And the winner was, the 17th Security Forces Squadron Defenders. The event was designed to give squadrons a team event to compete in with the aim of boosting morale and promoting esprit de corps. "The event went great," said Ms. Natalie Weems, special events and incentive's programs, Mathis Fitness Center. "We're hoping to see more participation next year." The 17 SFS Defenders have their squadron engraved on a plaque that will hang in the fitness center all year round for bragging rights until next year's Tug-O-War, Ms. Weems said. The other teams that participated were the 312th Training Squadron's 'Fire Dawgs' and 'Spinstra,' the 316th Training Squadron's 'Royal Order of the Green Worms' and the Marine Corps Detachment.
