Ricky Choate, flight chief, military training, 313th Training Squadron, Corry Naval Air Station, Fla, won the Air Force Senior Military Training Leader of the Year award at the 2009 Professional Airman's Conference, Atlanta, Ga, Aug. 19. The two winners clearly stood above their peers in professionalism, motivation and results. Sgt. Bavin whose hometown is Big Spring, Texas, has been stationed at Goodfellow for six years. "I believe I was selected because of some of the great things happening at Goodfellow that I have been fortunate to be involved in, including bringing Airman Leadership School back to Goodfellow after a 14 year absence," Sgt. Bavin said. Sgt. Choate, whose hometown is Dayton, Ohio, has been stationed at his base for four years. "I always focus on doing the right thing versus the nice thing," said Sgt. Choate. "Sometimes I'm not popular, but in the end the results speak for themselves."
