Goodfellow holds Financial Readiness Event Published July 30, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Anne Gathua 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AFB, Texas -- Goodfellow held a free Personal Financial Challenge Event, July 24 at the base theater, Professional Enhancement Center and Event Center. Approximately 2,248 servicemembers, civilians, and family members participated in 31 different presentations where they learned about making the most of their finances. This was the largest financial event ever hosted at Goodfellow. "There will be a financial counselor provided by Military Health Network to supplement the Airman and Family Readiness staff for the next 30 days," said Joy Hopper, chief of the Airman and Family Readiness Center. "The counselor will be available to help with creating a spend plan, basic investing, security clearance and credit report issues, car buying and debt management. Students can schedule appointments after normal duty hours, if they are unable to get out of class to get these services."
