PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- On Feb. 4, the 311th and 314th Training Squadrons combined run team won the Presidio of Monterey, Installation Commander's Cup. According to the captain of the female run team, communication and team work were key to this win. The quarterly competition consists of a two-mile formation run with guidon at the Price Fitness Center Track. Each of the four services enters one eight-person male team and one eight-person female team. The 311/314 TRS female Airmen placed first and completed the run in 14:05 seconds. The male Airmen completed the race in 11:59 seconds coming in second behind the Marines. Teams practice three times a week running up to 7 miles up and down the steep hills of Monterey. The training paid off in a big way as one of the Airmen recently qualified for the Boston Marathon and plans to run in the upcoming Big Sur Marathon. (U.S. Air Force photo)
