Monterey Airmen win Commander's Cup Published Oct. 16, 2008 By 2nd Lt. Lyris I. Johanson 311th Training Squadron PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- The Air Force wins again! The Presidio of Monterey held their fourth quarter Commander's Cup in late August at the Price Fitness Center track. It was an important landmark for the 311 and 314 Training Squadrons as they won first place overall in the combined male and female run, making five wins in the past six quarters. The female run team consisted of Airmen 1st Class Carissa Skrivanek, Kadie Kreitinger, Jeannette Roldan, Lynda Wilson, Ashley Riedel, Melissa Lawhon, Allison Douchette and Spencer Delling, Airmen Aubrey Pugh and Candice Lindenmayer, and Airman Basic Harley Owens. The female run team placed first with a two-mile run time of 14:05. The male run team consisted of Airmen 1st Class Matthew Frengs, Raun Carnley, Chris Martinelli, Travis Thurston, Russell Robertson and John Stoodley, Amn Daniel Smith and Airman Basic Jayson Phillips. The male team placed third, but still had an outstanding run time of 11:38. The Screaming Eagles and Cougars are confident that their winning streak will continue. Despite the long hours of intense training in the journey towards becoming linguists, both squadrons take pride in being top performers in activities around the base and community. We continue to applaud our Air Force linguists for their continued stride toward superior achievements in all aspects of military and academic training.
