The 311th Training Squadron DOD flight soccer team earned top honors in the Presidio of Monterey Intramural Soccer Championship with a 1-0 victory over Foxtrot Co., 229th Military Intelligence Battalion, during the second finals match in the double-elimination tournament.

Competition was fierce on the playing field with both teams continuously battling for possession in the offensive zone. After a scoreless first half, Casey Fullerton skillfully worked the ball up the right side for a cross-pass to Dale Sutter, who headed the ball in for a goal. The game remained at 1-0 due to the untiring efforts of most valuable player Brandon Myers as goal tender. Myers continuously thwarted the efforts of Foxtrot Co.'s offense and quickly cleared the ball out of their zone, protecting the lead until the final whistle was blown.

The 311 TRS DOD soccer team comprised non-prior service Arabic linguist students stationed at the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio of Monterey. Team members were Senior Airmen Jared Stratton, Airmen 1st Class Matthew Kerr (Coach), Joseph Bennett, Robert Blackmore, Aaron Blake, Alyssa Brayman, Sarah Burke, William Burke, Casey Fullerton, Eric Jaeger, Candice Jones, Zachary Manchas, David Mueller, Brandon Myers, Rachel Ooms, Carolyn Ortiz, Dylan Phillips-Scroth, Nichole Riddle, Dale Sutter, McKynzie Webster, Ryan Weeber, David Weeks and Miguel Escobar, and Airmen Travis McGarell, David Robinson, Christine Saunders, Kristofer Sirks and Willem Vanzeben.
