The Air Force Assistance Fund campaign has come and gone, and Goodfellow has done outstanding, raising $95,042 for the Air Force Village Foundation, the Air Force Aid Society, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation and the Air Force Enlisted Village between Goodfellow Air Force Base and the Presidio of Monterey, Calif.

"We ran a heck of a campaign," said 1st Lt. Aaron Lemke, the AFAF co-installation project officer. Capt. Scott Hodges, the installation project officer, added that he was particularly proud of the junior enlisted members on base.

Another group of Airmen who largely contributed to the success of the campaign was the 311th Training Squadron.

"The 311 TRS and other Airmen at the Presidio of Monterey really went above and beyond," Capt. Hodges added. "Despite having a significant part of our 17th Training Wing team geographically separated from us, we were still able to do an outstanding job of being Wingmen and taking care of our own."

In addition to all of the Airmen on Goodfellow and at the Presidio of Monterey, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 847 at nearby Angelo State University also participated in the drive.

"I'm proud of all our Airmen who participated in this campaign and made the Air Force Assistance Fund a huge success," said Col. Merrily Madero, 17th Training Wing vice commander. "I'm proud to say that Team Goodfellow is truly a group of 'Airmen helping Airmen.'"
