Earlier this month, four Airmen from Goodfellow Air Force Base won every possible leadership award while attending Airman Leadership School at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.

"Our base is a center of excellence .... our strength is in the men and women who serve here, so I wasn't that surprised when I heard about our Airmen sweeping the awards at ALS," said Chief Master Sgt. Paul Moreau, 17th Training Wing command chief master sergeant.

Airman Leadership School is an Air Force course approximately six-weeks long designed to develop Airmen into effective front-line supervisors and non-commissioned officers.

The school focuses on teaching leadership abilities enhancing effective communication skills and developing an appreciation for the profession of arms.

Senior Airman Michael Lavoy from the 17th Training Wing staff won the John L. Levitow Award. Senior Airman Jamal Kareem from the 17th Communication Squadron won the Leadership Award. Senior Airman Jacob Eddy from the 315th Training Squadron won the Academic Achievement Award and Senior Airman Brandi Giles won the Distinguished Graduate Award.

The four award-winning Airmen were not the only Goodfellow E-4s who graduated as members of Class 08-D.

Senior Airmen Marcin Trawinski from the 17th Medical Operations Squadron also graduated from ALS. The five airmen from Goodfellow were part of class that graduated a total of 21 students, which included Airmen form both Altus and Vance Air Force Bases in Oklahoma.

"As part of the senior leadership on base, I take great pride in the success of our Airmen. Their accomplishments reflect well upon them, their supervisors, their respective units and the base as a whole. I'd like to congratulate all our ALS graduates for completing this important step in their military careers," concluded Chief Moreau.
