Two previous members of Team Goodfellow, formerly assigned to the 17th Medical Group, won honors at the major command-level in February.

Tech. Sgt. Michael McHugh and Staff Sgt. Aisha Toston were stationed at Goodfellow when the 17 MDG submitted them for their awards.

Sergeant McHugh, now assigned to the 48th Medical Support Squadron at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, was selected for the Biomedical Equipment Repair NCO category of the 2007 Air Education and Training Command Medical Service Awards.

"Sergeant McHugh is a quiet professional," said Lt. Col. Susan Baker, 17 MDG acting commander. " He was involved in everything both here at the 17th Medical Group and while he was deployed, yet he didn't call attention to the myriad number of events in which he was involved. When I arrived, he quickly became a "go to" NCO in my squadron. The men and women of the 17th Medical Group are proud of his accomplishments - it's a fitting recognition of Sergeant McHugh's skills, abilities and professionalism."

Sergeant Toston, now assigned to the 51st Medical Support Squadron at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, won the Chief Master Sgt. Anton Zembrod Award for Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Airman of the Year at the AETC level.

"To be honest, I was surpised I received the award," Staff Sgt. Toston said. Sergeant Toston credited her busy year in 2007. She earned an Air Force Achievement Medal while deployed to Southwest Asia in 2006-2007, was an Airman Leadership School Distinguished Graduate in 2007, was chosen as NCO of the Quarter, completed her Community College of the Air Force degree in Diagnostic Imaging Technology and was the sole technician in the Radiology department for several months leading up to her change of station.

Sergeant Toston is an outstanding noncommissioned officer," Lt. Col. Baker said. "I have been honored to work with her."
