Gina O'Bryan 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 315th Training Support Squadron Big'ns beat out the 17th Mission Support Squadron Blue Ballers during the Ol' Skool Dodgeball Championship Tournament Feb. 7 at the Mathis Fitness Center gymnasium. Thirteen teams took part in the tournament hosted by the 17th Services Divisions and the Mathis Fitness Center staff. The Big'ns won the tourney by going 2-0 in the best of three series. "The biggest challenge was being down two players in the first game," said Big'ns team captain Daniel Kimmich. "Steve Yinger hit a player and caught a ball and it gave us the momentum we needed to carry it through to the second game." The Big'ns team was made up by: Daniel Kimmich, Brooks Barringer, Zach Lord, Billy Devoney, Danny May, Steve Yinger and Damon Wong. The winners were presented with individual certificates and headbands to go along with their trophy. According to Michelle Ammon, Goodfellow Air Force Base sports director, the dodgeball tournament was not an official intra-mural sporting event and no points awarded. "It was just an event we decided to put together so people could have a fun time," Ms. Ammon said.
