Due to extremely limited funding within Air Education and Training Command, each wing has been tasked to develop strategies to help reduce energy costs. In an effort to conserve funds associated with Goodfellow's utility costs, I am continuing the following Energy Conservation Measures.

As demonstrated last year, these measures helped reduce the base's utility costs. With Team Goodfellow's support, we will again succeed in meeting our energy reduction goals. For additional information, please call the Base Energy Manager. Mary Lumsdon, at 654-5285.

1. Enforce 68/78 degree set points set points identified in base plan, set back temperatures during non-duty hours.

2. Implement an end-of-day walkthrough of each facility to ensure all lights, appliances and electronic devices are off; this does not include computers, which must remain on.

3. Adjust Carswell Field House hours to Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and eliminate the use of the building for off-hours unit PT.

4. Implement two weeks or more of no heat / no cool in April and October if weather permits, with the exception of windowless facilities, kitchens, Event Center, fitness facilities and the bowling center.

5. Consolidate meeting days in the theater to Fridays and eliminate movies on Thursdays.

6. Contact BX and Commissary to reduce operating hours by 10 percent.

7. Use lights on football fields only for intramurals.

8. Close the bowling center at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday this summer after league play.

9. Adjust Mathis Fitness Center hours: Monday - Friday hours are 5 a .m - 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

10. Adjust dining facility operations: Move midnight meal from Western Winds to Cressman, which will result in the smaller of the two facilities being used, and reduce meal period from 1.5 hours to 1 hour. Reduce Western Winds breakfast hours by one hour to 6 - 8:15 a.m.

11. Continue renewable energy purchase at the minimum quantity to meet goals.
