Col. Conlan takes command Published Aug. 2, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Stephen Musal Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 17th Mission Support Group welcomed its newest commander Tuesday in a ceremony at the base parade field. Col. Ada Conlan assumed command of the 17 MSG from Col. Stephen Czerwinski, who leaves Goodfellow to become the chief of logistics for the 20th Air Force at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. Col. Conlan came to Goodfellow from the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Previously, she was the chief of protocol for Air University at Maxwell AFB, and she has served as the deputy commander of the 37th Training Group at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Col. Conlan earned her bachelor's degree in education from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Mich., and enlisted in the Air Force in 1983. She received her commission through Officer Training School in 1984. Col. Conlan has also earned a master's degree in public administration from Troy State University, Williams Air Force Base, Ariz. Col. Conlan's military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters.
