316 TRS gets new commander

A change-of-command ceremony was held for the 316th Training Squadron Tuesday at the Norma Brown Building flag pole.

Lt. Col. Thomas Dobbs took command from Lt. Col. Richard Moorehead, who is headed to Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

Lt. Col Dobbs comes from an assignment as deputy chief of the Doctrine Branch of the Concepts, Strategy and Wargaming Division at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Lt. Col. Dobbs graduated with military distinction from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1992, earning his Bachelor of Science in history. In 1997, he earned his Master of Science in strategic intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. In 2006, Lt. Col. Dobbs earned a Master of Airpower Art and Science Degree from the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

Lt. Col. Dobbs' military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
