New 311 TRS commander takes over Published July 2, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Stephen Musal Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- A change-of-command ceremony was held June 21 for the 311th Training Squadron at the Presidio of Monterey, Calif. Lt. Col. Paul Issler took command from Lt. Col. Marilyn Rogers, who is headed to the National Air & Space Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Lt. Col. Issler comes from MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., where he was an intelligence planner assigned to U.S. Central Command. He has also been an action officer at Headquarters U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., as well as a branch chief at Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command. Lt. Col. Issler earned his bachelor's degree in political science at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, graduating cum laude in 1989. Lt. Col. Issler received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Lt. Col. Issler's military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
