The 17th Training Wing hosted its first All-Call of 2025 at the Base Theater, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, Feb. 7.

Leadership addressed key initiatives designed to enhance mission effectiveness, align units for operational efficiency and ensure readiness.

During the All-Call, Col. Angelina Maguinness, 17th TRW commander, outlined the 17th TRW’s 10-Year Strategic Plan, emphasizing four major Lines of Effort. The first being ‘The One Community Approach’ which focuses on strengthening partnerships between Goodfellow AFB and the San Angelo community through programs like the Honorary Commanders, working groups and new alliances with Purdue Global Online. The Second was ‘Training and Development’, which aims to enhance training programs to produce mission-ready Airmen equipped for evolving challenges. The next LOE highlighted, ‘Infrastructure Modernization’ is an effort to upgrade facilities and resources to support current and future operational demands. Lastly, the 10-Year Strategic Plan focuses on ‘Technology Optimization’, emphasizing the vital role technology plays in improving training and operational effectiveness.

Maguinness continued to discuss the upcoming structural realignment of the wing. As the 17th TRW moves towards becoming an institutional wing, it will likely be transitioning to an A-Staff command structure, which will streamline leadership functions and decision-making processes.

Following the discussion on unit realignment, Maguinness emphasized the importance of upholding Air Force standards to reach readiness expectations. As part of this commitment, Standards and Readiness Reviews will be conducted quarterly. These assessments will focus on, help identify and address factors inhibiting mission readiness and ensure the 17th TRW fosters a culture of excellence.

The first All-Call of 2025 set a clear direction for the future of the 17th TRW. With a strong strategic plan, streamlined organizational structure and an emphasis on maintaining standards and readiness, the 17th TRW is poised for success in its mission to train, transform and empower the next generation of joint and coalition warriors.
