Goodfellow Showcases Capability at Job Expo Published Feb. 27, 2025 By Senior Airman Madi Collier 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Goodfellow Air Force Base Airmen connected with high school students across the Concho Valley at the SPARK Youth Career Expo, an event designed to introduce young minds to future career paths, at the Foster Communication Coliseum, San Angelo, Feb. 26. The expo brought together more than 60 vendors, including local businesses, colleges and service members from across the Department of Defense to showcase career opportunities and provide hands-on equipment and materials for students exploring their futures. Goodfellow’s Airmen played a key role in demonstrating the diverse career fields available in the U.S. Air Force, from intelligence and firefighting to cyber operations and public affairs. “You all have a spark inside of you. You have to decide how you want to use it. You have to decide what kind of spark you want to be in this world,” said Julie Schniers, SPARK Youth Career Expo’s guest speaker. Airmen engaged with students through interactive displays and conversations, sharing insights into military life, educational benefits and leadership opportunities. The expo served as a platform for recruitment, but more importantly, it strengthened Goodfellow’s ongoing community partnership with the Concho Valley. By participating in events like the SPARK Youth Career Expo, Goodfellow continues to bridge the gap between military service and the local workforce, inspiring the next generation of dedicated Airmen.
