The 17th Training Wing conducted a deployment readiness exercise at the Vance Deployment Center, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, Sept. 24.

The training exercise ensures Airmen are deployment-eligible at all times and equipped with the necessary skills to maintain mission readiness.

With the help of the 17th Logistics Readiness Squadron, all military members are briefed, equipped, and prepared for deployment at a moment's notice.

“No one can leave this place without us tracking it,” said Staff Sgt. Lanatae Brown, 17th Logistics Readiness Squadron Installation Deployment noncommissioned officer in charge. “We’re the lifeline between every commander. You let them know, 'Hey, your members are ready to deploy out.' We let them know how and when they are going to deploy out and help them get members back as well.”

Their dedication to the mission plays a vital role in the effectiveness of delivering airmen around the world at any moment, assisting the overall mission of not only the Air Force but the Department of War.

“The biggest enemy for any installation is complacency,” said Brown, “One thing we don’t want to do is be complacent with how we want to manage an effective system.”
