Goodfellow kicks off Military Saves Week Published Feb. 11, 2015 By Senior Airman Joshua Edwards 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Airman and Family Readiness Center is kicking off the Military Saves Campaign with a proclamation signing at the Norma Brown Building 10 a.m., Feb. 23. This year, the A&FRC is offering several classes, Feb. 23 to 28, to help individuals manage their finances. Class subjects include strategies for home buying, retirement planning, developing a spending plan and more. "The goal of Military Saves is to encourage service members and their families to take a savers pledge, which is a commitment to begin the journey to financial freedom," said William K. Gathecha, 17th Force Support Squadron A&FRC work life specialist. Gathecha also said he would like individuals to check out www.militarysave.org because it offers service members and their families financial information all year long. According to the Military Saves website, the program can strengthen your future. "Healthy finances and open communication about money contributes to marital stability and gives kids a solid foundation for the future."
