Rick Mantooth, 2014 San Angelo Chamber of Commerce chairman of the board, presented the award. The award is presented to recognize the community partnership between Goodfellow Air Force Base, Angelo State University, Howard College, San Angelo Independent School District and the Chamber of Commerce. "This group truly lived up to being partners in progress, this year," said Mantooth. "In 2014 the Goodfellow-Community Partnership initiative was created to discuss out of the box thinking to leverage community capabilities with military installation capabilities to realize cost saving benefits to both." Col. Terry J. "TJ" Hamrick Jr., 17th Training Wing Vice Commander, accepted the award on Goodfellow's behalf. "It has truly been our pleasure to work with all these organizations," said Hamrick. "We have gotten a lot done in the past year. This community partnership, for all the Air Force bases, has been the most productive in the nation. I'd like to thank all of our partners." Goodfellow and San Angelo will continue to work together in an effort to mutually cut costs.
