The 17th Training Wing Legal Office won Operation Bar Rescue, Jan. 9, a competition to have agencies and individuals pitch their best ideas to renovate the Neon Cactus bar.

The Legal Office won for their efficient reorganization of the bar, allowing for more floor space and a different placement of the dance area.

After winning the competition, the Legal Office members said they felt excited to see their plan come to fruition.

"It was a team effort," said Airman 1st Class Jebree M. Hinton, 17th TRW Legal Office paralegal journeyman. "Though our entire office wasn't up there to present and take the award, our work really was the sum of everyone's contributions."

Even though the Legal Office won, the judges took into consideration the other entries.

"They're going to take our ideas and combine them with some of the other competitors'," said Hinton.

The renovation will start this year.

"We plan to have the renovation in June," said Toni L. Hansen, 17th Force Support Squadron Director. "The bar and ballroom both will be renovated at the same time."
