The Army and Navy have a sibling rivalry that becomes visible during the annual Army versus Navy college football game, which sparks smaller scale matches across Defense Department installations around the globe.

At Goodfellow, the Army 344th Military Intelligence Battalion faced off against the Navy Center for Information Dominance Detachment and Marine Corps Detachment during a flag football game at the Mathis Fitness Center football field Dec. 8.

"When it comes to the services, the Army and the Navy are the biggest rivals," said Army Staff Sgt. Nahshon D. Johnson Sr., Army team captain. "It's the Army/Navy game so we are all ready to go. I tell [my team], 'Beat Navy!'"

At halftime, the Army had pulled ahead 6 to 0 and kept the lead throughout the game, but at the end of the day both teams still felt that they are one team with the same fight.

"At the end of the day we are still on the same team, so I told my guys to go out and have fun but don't hurt anybody," said Navy Chief Petty Officer Jeff M. McConn, Navy team captain. "It was a good game."

The final score was Army 14, Navy 0, with the Army claiming the Army/Navy trophy and another year of bragging rights.
