Goodfellow is hosting the 6th Annual Goodfellow Community Appreciation Day and 34th Annual Santa's Market at the high bay Nov. 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Team Goodfellow invites the surrounding San Angelo Community to attend the free annual event. The event kicks off with the 17th Training Group hosted drill competition followed by several demonstrations and displays throughout the day from different units from across the base. Some of these events include: firefighters extinguishing an aircraft fire, rappelling and displays from the 17th TRG. Many of these are set up to show the community what students learn at Goodfellow. Also, the Army will navigate through a simulated environment in a military operations urban terrain demonstration, displaying how they would operate in an urban environment.

Along with the Community Appreciation Day, the Arts and Crafts Center hosts the Santa's Market, which features more than 100 vendors from the local community. Children can participate in the "Make and Take" arts and crafts table and can also get a photo with Santa Claus.

The event is aimed at strengthening the base and community relations by informing locals of the training and mission here at Goodfellow while also providing a fun-filled day event.
