The Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy paid respect to the fallen firefighters of 9/11 during a remembrance ceremony Sept. 11. The Louis F. Garland Fire Academy is the DOD's executive agent for fire protection training, providing internationally certified graduates. The ceremony centered on reading the names of the 343 firefighters, represented by a formation of folded firefighter jackets, which died between 9:59 a.m. and 10:28 a.m., the time between the collapse of the South Tower and the collapse of the North Tower.
