Color run raises awareness Published Aug. 20, 2014 By Staff Sgt. Austin Knox 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office hosted its second annual 5K SAPR Color Race to promote awareness of sexual assault prevention at Kiowa Trail Aug. 16. Volunteers threw varying colors of powder on participants during the course of the race, and informative signs posted along the route educated runners on sexual assault prevention. "Incidents of sexual assault corrode the very fabric of our Wingman culture," said Donna Casey, 17th Training Wing sexual assault response coordinator. "We must strive for an environment where this type of behavior is not tolerated and where all Airmen are respected." More than 300 Team Goodfellow members and family attended the event. Attendance doubled from 2013. "This is our second year participating, and we had a great time," said Nora Nelson, Goodfellow spouse and race participant. "It was an opportunity to get my family involved in the SARC's mission, and as an added bonus, we were all physically active bright and early [in the morning] while getting covered in color!"
