The Top 3 with the help of the 5/6 Council provided a buffet to Goodfellow students during the first dorm dinner at the Crossroads Student Center here July 29.

The Top 3 and 5/6 Council are private professional development organizations which share similar goals of self-improvement, volunteering and junior-enlisted mentoring.

The dinner gave the Top 3 a chance to fulfill one of these goals and interact with the students in a non-training environment.

"The dinner is part of the base outreach program," said Master Sgt. Carl T. Vogel, 316th Training Squadron flight chief. "It's simply to increase visibility of senior NCOs in the wing and the Top 3. We want to let both students and permanent party Airmen know that we are approachable and that we are here for them."

Hundreds of students came to the dinner for a chance to socialize with Top 3 members and try some of their cooking.

"I really appreciate that they took the time and effort out of their day to cook food for us, bring it in here and give us an opportunity to make it more like home," said Airman 1st Class Tabitha R. Aynatt, 316th TRS student. "A lot of the times Senior NCOs can seem intimidating when you are pretty new to the Air Force, so I'm glad they did this to seem more approachable."

The Top 3 plans to host another dorm dinner before the end of the year.
