To help celebrate the Month of the Military Child, the base Youth Programs office held a Spring Fling at the Child Development Center here April 12.

The Youth Programs created the annual event to allow families to get together for enjoyment and relaxation.

"The event turned out awesome," said Sally A. Fuller, 17th Force Support Squadron Airman and Family Services. "This year's turn-out surpassed expectations from last year."

The free event consisted of egg hunts, bounce houses, face painting, free food and more.

"Everything was really fun," said a Spring Fling youth. "The food was good, and I got to take pictures with the Easter Bunny."

Volunteers helped set up the Spring Fling, run events and cooked the food.

"It's the little bit we can do to ensure everyone is going to have a good time," said Gregorio J. Escamilla, 17th Training Support Squadron flight chief and volunteer.

The Month of the Military Child is every April and recognizes the accomplishments and resilience of the military children by providing special days and events to honor them and their family.
