Walk-in service at the Goodfellow TRICARE Service Center will end April 1, as part of an expense reduction while still supporting an increasing customer base.

By eliminating walk-in customer service at TSCs, which at Goodfellow averages to 947 monthly, the Defense Department estimates savings of approximately $250 million over five years. The change doesn't affect TRICARE benefits or health care delivery, and most customers won't be affected.

Goodfellow patients still have a variety of secure, electronic customer service options available through www.tricare.mil. The new "I want to..." feature puts everything beneficiaries want on the front page of the website.

When walk-in service ends, beneficiaries who want personal assistance can call Humana Military at 800-444-5445 for enrollment and benefit help. All health care, pharmacy, dental and claims contact information is located at www.tricare.mil/contactus. Beneficiaries can make enrollment and primary care manager changes at www.tricare.mil/enrollment.

TRICARE beneficiaries can still send health care forms through the U.S. mail.

For more local information please contact 2nd Lt. Matthew Steele, 17th Medical Support Squadron Resource Management Flight Commander, at 325-654-3088, and for all other TSC matters, please contact 800-444-5445.
