Make Family Time Active Time

Being physically active while raising a family can be tough; with so many obligations it can be difficult to make time for health and family.

One way to make it easier is to make family time, active time. Whether it is daily or weekly, spending time together being active is a great way to bond and be a healthy role model.

Since both children and adults benefit from 60 minutes of daily physical activity turn off the television and get outside. Below are a few ideas to help make family time active time:

· Hike or bike the state park on the weekends
· Rent kayaks at the Goodfellow Recreation Camp
· Enter fun runs or walks as a family
· Take a walk after dinner, especially if you have a dog
· Plant a garden
· Play soccer, tennis, golf or any other sport that everyone can get involved
