Interested in boosting your fitness or trying something new to supplement your workout? The Mathis Fitness Center has the answer for you.

In July, the Mathis Fitness center acquired a virtual training program call "Fitness on Demand."

The program is a kiosk that projects workouts onto a screen for members to enjoy. Workout classes include kickboxing, dancing, spinning and yoga.

Diamond McClendon, Mathis Fitness Center recreation fitness assistant, said the program allows fitness centers to provide extra workout options without hiring extra staff.

"It allows for a more rounded workout, without just doing the same old thing," said McClendon.

McClendon explained the program is ideal in helping customers supplement their workouts without having to make one of the set in stone class times.

The exercise videos feature a virtual instructor and two assistants who perform the exercises at different skill levels, which allow people to follow at their own pace.

The kiosks, which are part of the service's Operational Fitness Program, come preloaded with 30 workout videos and are updated quarterly. They are open to airmen, retirees and family members.

Scott Nunnelly, Air Force Personnel Command Fitness Program manager, said "The goal of this program is to encourage airmen to live healthy lifestyles and provide alternative avenues to staying fit."

If interested in trying out the program ask a Mathis Fitness Center staff member. For more information call the Mathis Fitness Center at 325-654-3242.
