The Armydillo features a 10k run, two-mile fun run and a formation run. The event attracted civilians, active duty and retired military members. "I came out to run and support the Armydillo, because I was Army," said retired Army Capt. Dr. Jerry Roach, Armydillo competitor. "I run every day because I enjoy it. It makes me feel good and keeps me healthy." Both the 10k and two-mile fun run started at 8:20 a.m and thirteen minutes later, Command Sgt. Maj. Matt Coppi, Army 344th Military Intelligence Battalion command sergeant major, crossed the finish line securing the first place spot for the two-mile fun run. Roach finished first in his age category of the 60 and over, for the two-mile run. "Today I looked around and didn't see anyone who could beat me," said Roach. "It depends on who shows up. If some of the right guys show up you're not going to win first. I ran a 16 minute and 3 second two-mile." 2nd Lt. Charles Thoennes, 315h Training Squadron student, placed first in the 10k run with a time of 37 minutes and 51 seconds. Once the 10k and two-mile run completed, the Army led the way in the two-mile formation run followed by the Marines, a civilian dressed formation and the Red, White and Blue team.
