Col. Thomas Schmidt, 17th Training Wing Vice Commander, presented Wayne Click, 17th Civil Engineer Squadron Readiness and Emergency Management Flight Chief, with a coin for winning the 2012 Air Education and Training Command Emergency Management Civilian Manager of the Year Award Aug. 13 at the Norma Brown building.

The AETC Emergency Management Award recognizes the most outstanding military and civilian emergency managers and provides the AETC nominations for the Air Force level competition.

"Click has worked here for six years," said Michael Noret, 17th Civil Engineer Squadron deputy chief. "His achievements essentially made him stand above the emergency managers in the command."

Among his accomplishments, Click manages the 17th TRW emergency management training program; conducted 96 courses and trained 2,013 personnel last year. He also wrote Goodfellow's Air Force Incident Management System Concept of Operations, a reference guide for local procedures training which is mandatory for all wing commanders.

"Click has base wide responsibilities to respond to any kind of emergencies or threats," said Noret.

AETC judges Emergency Management Civilian Manager of the Year Award nominees upon several criteria including their accomplishments, job performance, technical competence, leadership ability, initiative and more.
