The Crossroads is a "sanctuary" for Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen to get away from the training environment. The Girl Scouts realized they had a surplus of cookies and decided to donate to the students of Goodfellow Air Force Base. "The Girl Scouts have been collecting the donated cookies from the San Angelo community so they can give them to the students who come to the Crossroads Student Ministry Center," said Tech Sgt. Lisa Cacao, 17th Training Wing chaplain assistant. The donation of cookies is considered a great help at the Crossroads, said 2nd Lt Jonathan Helms, 17th TRW chaplain candidate. "During in processing, the Crossroads spends an abundance of money on buying cookie dough for the new Airmen coming each week," said Helms. "It is a wonderful blessing to have these cookies donated to us." Goodfellow hosts 4,000 students at any given time and the Crossroads Student Ministry Center is a popular destination for those individuals.
