Senate Bill 485 sets Aug. 9-11 as the dates of this year's annual Sales Tax Holiday.
The law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales and use taxes, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.

According to the Houston Chronicle, "the three-day tax holiday gives parents a break when buying school supplies and clothing for the coming semester."

This year the Base Exchange plans on saving customers additional money on clothing and school supplies since the store is already tax free.

"We usually offer an additional 8.25 percent off clothes and school supplies," said Tiffany Delacruz, Base Exchange department manager. "We do this to promote extra savings."

Delacruz said she also has kids and it's always nice to save on all the back to school accessories.

Every year the Exchange sets up balloons around all the sections in the store offering discounted items. "We try to ensure these items are easily accessible to shoppers," Delacruz said.

Other companies who sell back to school items in San Angelo are scheduled to celebrate Tax Free Weekend as well.
