Team Goodfellow members and youth celebrated the Month of the Military Child with a "What's Your Story" Children's Fair at the youth complex April 25.

The 17th Force Support Squadron hosted the event to celebrate the support military children their parents.

"We talk a lot about our military members and their service, but today is about our military families and their sacrifices," said Col. Kimberlee P. Joos, 17th Training Wing Commander, at the event.

The event featured a petting zoo, bounce houses, games and activities for Goodfellow youths and their family.

"This was a great event that allowed more than 450 children and their families the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful day, learn new things and most of all, have fun," said Sally A. Fuller, 17th FSS Airman and Family Services flight chief.

At the event, Fuller announced the winners for the "What's Your Story" essay contest. Andrew Smith, 9- to 12-years old category winner, won with his essay which focused on the bad and good things about being a military child.

"Remember that it may be hard to be a military child, but if you just hold on and try, you can get through it," wrote Andrew. "If you can get through moving away from family in the military, you can get through anything."

The other winners were: Holden Auty, 3- to 5-years old; Amaya Paulsen, 6- to 8-years old; Moe'Neyah Holland 13- to 15-years old; and Brandon Auty, 16- to 18-years old.
