SAPR office receives innovation award Published June 9, 2015 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Congratulations to the 17th Training Wing Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office for winning the 2015 Sexual Assault Prevention Innovation Award for Air Education and Training Command. This award annually recognizes a group or an individual from each military service, component or organization that contributed or developed an innovative idea, concept, methodology or approach to prevent sexual assaults at an installation, university detachment or in a deployed environment. The award’s citation stated, “The office consists of a 5-member team serving 2 geographically separated locations, Goodfellow AFB and Presidio of Monterey, providing unparalleled service to a wing population of 6,600 members, including 14,400 technical training students. At the forefront of innovative ways to prevent sexual assault, they planned and executed 15 wing-wide outreach events focusing on sexual assault awareness and methods in which individuals can best report and combat sexual assault. Several of their programs, including Dating 101 and Communications and Boundaries, have been featured in local and Air Force media and lauded by senior Air Force leadership.” Wish the 17th SAPR office luck as they continue onto the Air Force level.
