Volunteers threw varying colors of powder on participants during the course of the race. Informative signs were also posted along the route to educate runners on sexual assault prevention. "The event is all about the base coming together, making them aware of sexual assault," said Donna Casey, 17th Training Wing sexual assault response coordinator. “We also want them to come together and realize that this problem is a one we need to share and that we all need to intervene together.” More than 230 Goodfellow AFB members and their families attended the event. “It’s great for everyone to know that there’s somebody who is going to take care of them if anything happens,” said Army Staff Sgt. Hisham Alameddin, 344th Military Intelligence Battalion student. As a part of their mission, the SAPR Team hosts several events throughout the year to raise awareness.
