McFarlane 17th Training Wing Public Affairs SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Angelo State University hosted a Military Appreciation Day football game Oct. 31. The event kicked-off with the presentation of the American flag by ASU ROTC cadets and Goodfellow Air Force Base service members as Patriotic Blue sang the national anthem. During the half-time event, the ASU marching band played each military branch’s service song as they formed ARMY, USMC, NAVY, USAF and USCG. The band joined with Goodfellow Air Force Base service members carrying the flags of the 50 states to create an outline of the United States as Col. Michael L. Downs, 17th Training Wing Commander, administered the Oath of Enlistment to military recruits.
