Goodfellow hosted a Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony to bring families together and boost morale on the base Parade Field Dec. 3.

The event included caroling, tree lighting and a visit from Santa Claus.

“Events like this are really fun especially when you get to the holiday season,” said Chief Master Sgt. JoAnne S. Bass, 17th Training Wing Command Chief. “It’s a time for us to kick back with our families and reflect on what it means to be together.”

Col. Michael L. Downs, 17th Training Wing Commander, lit the Holiday tree.

“I love coming to events like this with my family,” said Airman 1st Class Kenneth J. Miller, 17th Communication Squadron cyber transport system technician “This time of year is my favorite and it fills me with joy to see everyone come together.”

These events allow us to take time out and appreciate the holiday and what it means to us, said Bass.

“I think it’s important that we have things like this on our calendar,” said Bass.
