AAFES hands out gifts for the holidays Published Dec. 23, 2015 By Senior Airman Devin Boyer 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Army and Air Force Exchange Service affiliates handed out gift bags to single permanent party and student service members who stayed local for the holidays Dec. 23. It is not uncommon to be away from home during the holiday season for military personnel, and the men and women in uniform tend to adapt and overcome. This year, AAFES made it easier for those service members. “It lets us know that our base is thinking about us,” said Airman 1st Class Alisa Baker-Burdo, 312th Training Squadron student. “We have our military family here supporting us and it just makes us stronger because being away from our family is part of our new life.” The Exchange staff put together 150 gift bags from donated goods vendors provided. “We appreciate the business our customers give us,” said Lisa A. Piper, Goodfellow AAFES assistant manager. “The intent of the gift bags is to say thank you.” The Goodfellow AAFES wishes the Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines a safe and cheerful holiday this year!
