The Wing Inspection Team facilitated an exercise in which first responders reacted to a natural disaster that resulted in damaged infrastructure and multiple injured Airmen, April 21.

Airmen used make-up to simulate wounds they received from the tornado.

“I was supposed to be unconscious with three bolts in my leg and a swollen knee,” said Airman 1st Class Connie L. Brown, 315th Training Squadron student. “The FTX was done to see how people would respond to a tornado.”

First responders then rescued and treated the wounded Airmen.

“I was the driver of the fire truck and I helped get the back board to help the unconscious lady,” said Marius R. Cobbs, Goodfellow Fire Department firefighter. “I thought the FTX went pretty well, but we won’t really know till it’s been reviewed.”

The Wing Inspection Team will review the exercise to determine how successful base personnel responded to the emergency.
